Welcome to the African NFT Community

A Home for African Creators in the Digital Age

Welcome to the African NFT Community (ANC), a space born from the necessity for African artists to connect, collaborate, and create in the rapidly evolving world of NFTs and Web3. Founded in December 2021 by Zimbabwean artist Vintagemozart and later joined by co-founder Darkmythst from Ghana, ANC has always been more than just a community—it is a movement.

Our journey began as a small Twitter group chat, sparked by the idea of navigating blockchain technology amid the harsh crypto laws in Africa. Over time, ANC grew into a thriving collective, where artists from across the continent and the diaspora came together to share their experiences, showcase their work, and explore the creative possibilities of the digital world.

Why We’re Here

ANC was created for African artists to have a judgment-free space where they could not only discuss their unique challenges but also thrive in the NFT ecosystem. Through daily discussions, educational resources, and live rooms on platforms like Clubhouse, we provided artists with tools to understand and succeed in the metaverse.

Preserving Our Legacy

Though our community has evolved into an archive, the heartbeat of ANC remains strong. This platform now serves as a living resource, preserving the stories, artworks, and contributions of the talented creators who made ANC what it is today. The ANC archive is a testament to the resilience and creativity of African artists in the face of challenges, and it stands as a source of inspiration for future generations.
